Lift and Platform Rental Prices

Access Platforms Buyers' Guide

The cost of purchasing an access platform is extremely high. If you wished to buy a new Boom Lift for example you should expect to pay anywhere between £30,000 and £75,000. Used machines are available, but even an older model which has been in service for a number of years could cost upwards of £20,000.

Renting is Cheap and Flexible

Because of this high cost, and the fact that most companies may only need the lift for a short period or for use on one specific job, most people choose to rent a machine by the day or the week.

Scissor Lift Rental Prices

The cheapest option when looking to rent an access platform is to choose a scissor lift. These cost somewhere in the region of £400 per week, or £180 per day (depending on the model) to rent.

Boom Lift Rental Prices

A boom lift will usually cost you more - usually between £1000-£1500 for a week’s hire, or £350-£700 for the day, again depending on what type of machine you require.

The larger machines that allow a higher reach will generally cost more than the smaller models.

Additional Costs

Make sure to investigate whether the quote includes transportation costs. In most cases transportation and training on how to get the best, safest use from the machine will be an extra charge.
