| How will you use your skid steer loader(s)? [required] |
Skid steer loaders are very versatile machines, thanks to the wide variety of attachments they can be fitted with. Knowing the application you'll be using it for will help determine which attachments are right for your purchase. Keep in mind that you can hire attachments, so if there's a specialised function you only need occasionally, don't feel compelled to buy that attachment.

| Do you have a preference for buying or hiring your skid steer loader(s)? [required] |
Please note: Most dealers will offer financing and leasing options (i.e. monthly payments) for new skid steers to help make them more affordable for your business.
Renting a skid steer for a month or two can be a good way to evaluate a piece of equipment or solve a short-term need, but is not economical in the long run. Leasing and outright purchasing are both common financing options the choice often depends on the capital you have on hand. If you plan to use the skid steer full-time for years to come, purchasing is usually the better choice.

| Are you interested in a new or reconditioned skid steer? [required] |
Please note: most dealers have a limited inventory of used/reconditioned skid steer loaders and may be unable to find one with your specifications. To get a complete comparison, consider selecting "not sure" to evaluate all your options.
Most skid steer dealers sell both new and used equipment. Because skid steers get subjected to significant wear, buying used probably isn't worth the risk if you're going to be relying on the machine for heavy use. If you are determined to buy a used machine, look for a skid steer that has 1,000 to 2,000 hours of use -- much over that and the equipment may not last.

What operating (lifting) capacity do you need? [required]
|
Operating capacity for a skid steer is set at 50% of the tipping load the point at which the rear wheels lift off the ground. The most popular size is the 800 kg to 900 kg range. Generally, anything over 1,000 kg is considered a heavy-lift skid steer.
